HidePal is a private photo and video vault for iPhone. Your library is backed up in high quality — photos up to 2560 px and videos up to 1080p — locked behind a PIN and Face ID, and — this is the part other vaults will not promise — you can view and export everything you put in it free, forever. Stop paying and you still get your photos out.

What you get
Most photo vaults are built so that leaving costs you your library. HidePal is built the other way round: the plan buys storage, and getting your own photos back is always free.
Viewing and exporting your library is free, forever. If your plan lapses you keep full access to everything already in your vault — no ransom screen, no export fee, no countdown.
Photos are backed up at up to 2560 px and videos at up to 1080p, synced to your private cloud vault — sharp on any iPhone or iPad screen, not tiny thumbnails, and optimized for screens so your storage goes further.
The vault opens with a PIN and Face ID or Touch ID. Nothing in it appears in your camera roll, your recents, or your shared albums.
Albums and nested folders, fast scrolling over server-generated previews, and bulk import straight from Photos.
Bulk export writes the original capture date back onto every file, so your timeline stays intact when photos leave the vault.
Deletes go to a recoverable trash first, and destructive actions move files off to a recovery area rather than shredding them instantly.
Straight answers
HidePal is a private, access-controlled cloud vault — not an end-to-end encrypted one. Your files travel over HTTPS and sit in a per-account private store that no other user can reach, but we can technically access them, so we say so rather than claiming encryption we have not shipped. There is no Android app and no web sign-in: the vault is reachable only from the iOS app, which is a smaller attack surface, and that is on purpose. Cross-device recovery is not finished yet — today recovery works on the same device.
FAQ
You keep them. Viewing and exporting your existing library is free forever — a lapsed plan stops new uploads, it does not lock the vault. This is the single reason HidePal exists: the loudest complaint in this category is people being held hostage by an app they no longer pay for.
No, and we will not claim otherwise. Uploads travel over HTTPS into a private, access-controlled per-account store; end-to-end encryption is on the roadmap but has not shipped. If E2EE is a hard requirement for you today, choose an app that genuinely has it.
Yes — bulk export in the same high quality, with the original capture date stamped back onto each file so your timeline is not flattened to today's date. Export is free and is never behind a plan.
Your library lives in the cloud vault, not only on the handset, so removing the app does not destroy it. Be aware of one current limit: recovery is same-device today — cross-device recovery is built but not finished, so treat a lost or replaced phone as a case to contact support about rather than a self-service restore.
No. HidePal is iOS-only and has no browser sign-in. A private vault with a public web door is a bigger target, so the only client is the app on your phone.
No ads, and your photos are not a data product. The paid plans buy storage; that is the whole business model.
It goes to trash first and can be restored. Even a permanent delete moves the file into a separate recovery area instead of destroying it immediately, so a mis-tap is not final.
HidePal is built and operated by Arnor Apps.
